A chartered civil engineer, Peter has vast experience in delivering business transformation and leading multi-disciplinary teams. His early career saw him deliver high profile projects such as M25 widening and Channel Tunnel Rail Link C440.

Murphy’s chief executive officer, Steve Hollingshead, welcomed Peter’s appointment: “I am delighted Peter is joining us. We have a lot to deliver for our clients and there are great opportunities across the infrastructure sector. Peter further boosts our team to maximise those opportunities and deliver our ten-year plan. He will become a key member of our executive management board and I’m pleased he’s joining us on our journey.”

Peter said: “This is a really exciting time to be joining the Murphy team and I’m looking forward to getting started. Murphy’s ten-year plan builds on an impressive legacy. I understand the opportunities available in the sector and I will use my skills and experience to help deliver Murphy’s vision.”

Murphy’s current MD for the south, Darren Ramsay, will move to lead the bidding and delivery for some of the company’s major infrastructure projects.

Steve commented: “As we deliver our business plan, these appointments are a statement of our intent to attract and retain the best industry talent. Darren’s skills and valuable knowledge will be vital in helping us deliver large and complex projects, such as the York potash mining project.”
