Our extensive range of equipment and substantial investments in modern tunnelling technology enable us to be competitive at all levels and across a wide and diverse range of ground conditions. A considerable depth of management experience, high levels of engineering capability and a dedicated long-serving workforce complements this ongoing development programme.
The recently-completed Lower Lea Valley Cable Tunnels project for the Olympic Village has been awarded Project of the Year 2009 by the Association for Project Management. As a major part of the ground breaking Power Lines Underground (PLUG) Project, this was the first Olympic Park preparation scheme for the London 2012 Games which saw the permanent transformation of the skyline of East London by removing 52 pylons and involved creating 13 kilometres of tunnels and installation of 200km of power cabling.
Other recent contracts have included the Thames Tunnels for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, major power cable tunnels and infrastructure for National Grid Transco and EDF Energy and a number of major tunnelled sewers. And our memberships in the British Tunnelling Society, the Pipe Jacking Association and CECA are testament to our continued dedication to the sector.
